Computational Thinking: Agenda Day 4 Christchurch Cohort 2, 2019

What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?

Tohatoha - Share was our focus today! Dorothy spoke about sharing our achievements and fails and we can share in different ways. It's important as Educators to work with our Learners to establish an authentic audience for their learning outcomes, share - and beyond, to someone who is choosing to listen to you.

We learned that Connected Learners share. Blogger has been chosen as an effective way to do this. It allows students to learn how to be a positive digital citizen by placing Positive, thoughtful and helpful feedback to others.

What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?

The importance of SHARE with a purpose. Setting up Blogger for my class will be the next step.

We were introduced to the Digital Technology Curriculum, how critical it is in every aspect of life in the future. Kawana, an inspiring and enthusiastic presenter from OMGTech opened my eyes to different forms of this curriculum in action.

What did I learn that could be used with my learners?

The role computational thinking, computer science and electronics can play in the Learn, Create and Share process. I was able to try Scratch, a coding programme which was an excellent example of the process; Learn, Create and Share.

  1. Hey Tracey,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts around sharing through blogs! It is pretty exciting that you are thinking about starting up a blogger for your class! Has your class looked at any blogs before?

    1. No, I will share some links to different Blogs with them next week, prior to starting :) Any other ideas about how I can do this?

To support my learning I ask you to comment as follows:
1. Something positive - Begin with a greeting. Talk about something you like about what I have shared.
2. Thoughtful - A comment that will mean something to me to let me know you read/watched or listened to what I had to say. - use any language.
3. Something helpful - Give me some ideas for next time or ask me a question.
Encourage me to make another post
