What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?
Tohatoha - Share was our focus today! Dorothy spoke about sharing our achievements and fails and we can share in different ways. It's important as Educators to work with our Learners to establish an authentic audience for their learning outcomes, share - and beyond, to someone who is choosing to listen to you.
We learned that Connected Learners share. Blogger has been chosen as an effective way to do this. It allows students to learn how to be a positive digital citizen by placing Positive, thoughtful and helpful feedback to others.
What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?
The importance of SHARE with a purpose. Setting up Blogger for my class will be the next step.
We were introduced to the Digital Technology Curriculum, how critical it is in every aspect of life in the future. Kawana, an inspiring and enthusiastic presenter from OMGTech opened my eyes to different forms of this curriculum in action.
What did I learn that could be used with my learners?
The role computational thinking, computer science and electronics can play in the Learn, Create and Share process. I was able to try Scratch, a coding programme which was an excellent example of the process; Learn, Create and Share.
